WHAT ARE THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THIS RACE?
La Gallo Nero, a competitive event with timed sections and recreational cycling segments
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO REGISTER?
At the time of registration all athletes must be members of the Italian Cycling Federation, or organizations affiliated with said Federation.
There are two registration categories:
- Amateur cyclist (competitive level) – “Gallo Nero” route
- Bicycle tourist (NON-competitive level) – “Cosimo III”
However, cyclists not belonging to any cycling club may participate in La Gallo Nero event by signing up for the daily insurance as specified below:
- Amateur cyclist - “Gallo Nero” route –FCI daily membership card for € 15,00
- Bicycle tourist - “Cosimo III” route – FCI daily membership card for € 15,00
The event Organizer may, at any time and at its sole discretion, decide whether to accept or refuse registration to the event, or whether to exclude a registered participant should they in any way damage the image of the event.
ROUTES AND START TIMES
START:
- “Cosimo III” = 60 km, start time from 8:30 to 9 AM
- “Gallo Nero” = 133 km, start time from 8 to 8:30 AM with 2 timed sections
Timekeeping will be carried out by STS-EVODATA using "one chip" technology.
The timed sections, which will be closed to traffic for a maximum of 2 hours and will contribute to the final individual women's and men's rankings, will be as follows:
- LUIANO HILL CLIMB (appx. 4 Km)
- CANAGLIA HILL CLIMB (appx. 3 Km)

ATTENTION:
Each hill climb will have a specific "gate" opening and closing time set by the organizer, which will be communicated to participants.
Once a specific "gate" closing time has passed, timekeeping will no longer be carried out and staff will no longer be present.
To be eligible for prizes, each participant must be timed on all hill climbs included in the chosen route.
To be eligible for prizes, each participant must pass through the designated checkpoints provided by the organizer along the routes.
To be eligible for prizes, each participant must complete the lap within the time limit specified in point 2 of these regulations.
In accordance with UCI and FCI Regulations, paragraphs 1.3.010 and 12.1.013 bis on technological fraud, the race jury, with the technical support of the event Organizer, is authorized to carry out random or systematic checks.
All routes are marked by arrows, but participants must refer to the “Road Book”. Routes and GPS tracks are available for consultation and may be downloaded from the route page found at www.lagallonero.it.
ARE THERE REFRESHMENT STANDS ALONG THE WAY?
There are 4 refreshment stands along the longer route, and 1 refreshment stand for the short route:
- San Casciano in Val di Pesa
- San Donato in Poggio
- Castagnoli (Gaiole)
- Ponte alle Granchiaie (Gaiole)
- water at the finish line
- end-of-event refreshments – at the Gallo Nero Village
All refreshments stands are specially marked a few meters ahead.
E-BIKES
E-bikes will not be equipped with a Chip, therefore they will not be ranked and will not be awarded prizes.
Anyone who wants to use this type of bicycle will have to proceed in cycle tourism mode.
AWARD CEREMONIES
Starting at 1.30PM prizes will be given for the following categories:
- largest group
Award ceremony for the top 3 men and top 3 women based on the sum of the timed sections, and award ceremony for the overall winners based on the sum of the timed sections of the 12 FCI-recognized categories.
Unclaimed awards will not be sent.
MEDICAL ASSISTANCE
A coordinated Emergency First Aid Rescue Plan approved by the Italian Emergency Operational Center is in place, as required by the Italian Cycling Federation rules. Ambulances and qualified medical staff for emergency first aid and rescue will be in attendance.

We strongly suggest to carry a bike puncture and repair kit throughout the event.
TECHNICAL INFORMATION PACKAGE AND RACE PACK PICK UP
Your race number and race pack can be picked up at the Village Gallo Nero in Radda in Chianti as follows:
- Saturday, September 27th 2025 from 2PM to 6PM
- Sunday, September 28th 2025 from 7AM to 8.30AM
Unclaimed race packs by the start time of the race will not be delivered nor sent.
REPLACEMENT OR WITHDRAWAL FROM THE EVENT
Should a registered participant not be able to attend the 2025 La Gallo Nero event, his/her registration fee cannot be reimbursed and the race pack cannot be delivered.
Decision to withdraw from the event must be communicated by and no later than midnight of August 31st 2025 via e-mail sent to pedale39@gmail.com. Within said deadline, your paid registration fee will not be reimbursed, but will be held for the 2026 La Gallo Nero edition. In this case, registration is strictly personal, non-transferable and valid only for the year following cancellation.
From September 1st 2025, your paid registration fee will not be reimbursed, nor held for the following edition.
If the registration fee has been held for the following edition, it must be reactivated by the same athlete before and no later than June 30th 2026 by written request emailed to pedale39@gmail.com. After said date, your registration can no longer be reactivated. There is a € 5 administration fee for reactivation.
CHIP RULES
The EVODATA OneChip will be used for this event and must be valid for the year 2025. If your chip is not enabled, you can activate it solely for this event for a fee of €5.00. Participants who do not have their own OneChip can rent one for €5.00, in addition to a refundable deposit of €5.00.
ATTENTION: the use of the chip is mandatory for the “Gallo Nero” route for organizational and safety reasons. Timing is NOT guaranteed for those who do not position the chip correctly.

TERMS AND REGISTRATION FEES
All registrations must be made through Endu.net.
- From Opening of online registrations to May 20th 2025 PROMOTIONAL RATE €35,00 with t-shirt (and race pack)
- From May 21th to June 30th 2025 €45,00 with commemorative t-shirt (and race pack) or €35,00 without commemorative t-shirt (with race pack)
- From July 1st to August 25th 2025 €50,00 with commemorative t-shirt (and race pack) or €35,00 without commemorative t-shirt (with race pack)
- From August 26th to September 25th 2025 €40,00 without commemorative t-shirt (with race pack)
- On September 27th and 28th €45,00 without commemorative t-shirt (with race pack)
The registration fee includes: race pack, refreshments along the route, medical assistance during the event, water at the finish line, end-of-event refreshments, changing rooms and showers, attended bicycle parking at the Village.
